We are a group of like-minded growers of edible and useful heritage plant varieties in the Bellingen area of northeast New South Wales, Australia.

Our climate varies from frost-free coastal areas to inland river valleys and highlands with frosts. Bellingen has an average annual rainfall of 1507ml.

Resources

For an excellent guide to saving seeds and growing many of the plants that flourish in our area The Seed Savers Handbook is available at Seed Savers Network.

You will find that subtropical gardening contains a planting guide that suits subtropical/warm temperate gardening. This is a quarterly magazine. Many of the perennial vegetables we can grow locally are listed in the planting guides.

Gardenate will send a monthly email with a planting guide suited to your area. There is also a phone app that you can access from this site.

Go to these ebookbrowse resources to browse and to eventually download many of the plants we grow under PNG Food Plants. There are similar ebooks as well. You can also download the pdf directly.
